Why Kinspire?
A home for our traditions, built by us, for us

No matter where we were raised, what our parents did for a living or where we went to school, there are certain things we do and know that are inherently Black.
Somehow, we've discovered that we were all essentially raised the same: across states, generations and decades. From cocoa butter to Saturday morning cleaning to how to wash greens to recriminations to keep your "outside clothes" off the bed, there is a certain level of familiarity that we embrace, even with strangers.
And it's imperative that those traditions – built from scratch in a country that we built for free – don't get lost.
“With the advent of social media, we are able to show those traditions across several platforms, but none of them are "ours." None of them were built for us; they were built for everybody.
That's why I built Kinspire. I like to compare it to the fashion and beauty magazines I used to pore over when I was younger. Yes, you'd see a Black woman in Glamour or Cosmo occasionally, but Essence? It was ours. Every month. All year. You could exhale and just enjoy, not scrutinize for a familiar face.
Kinspire is designed to be home. Your grandmother's home. Your mother's home. Your home. Our culture, traditions, style and flair are unique. That style deserves a home, too. Kinspire is it.
